Here are a few High School Senior Portraits I’ve done this summer. I’ll post a few at a time. I photograph on location as well as here at my studio on Rt. 17. I go to the Breakwater, Lucia Beach and Marshall Point Light frequently. The coast of Maine makes a beautiful backdrop for photos.

Camden Maine Wedding – Katy and Paul

Katy and Paul are from Long Island, New York and choose Camden, Maine as their perfect wedding location. The ceremony was at Our Lady of Good Hope and the reception at the always wonderful Whitehall Inn. All Aboard Trolley provided transportation to and from the church as well as to the top of Mt. Battie and the wedding cake look just as fabulous as it tasted and was made by A Piece of Cake in Waldoboro.

Owls Head Maine Wedding – Norumbega Reception

Liz and Thor were married on his family’s property in Owls Head overlooking the Mussel Ridge Channel. They kept the wedding small and simple, decorating the “alter” with a canoe and cut flowers. Other decorations, including lobster traps and a wagon, gave the outdoor wedding a casual and fun feel.

After we took some family photos we went to the reception at Norumbega in Camden This stone “castle” was built in 1886 and is a sight to see. Every room will delight you with its own individual charm with surprises around every corner including a circular library.

The Schooner Olad sails out of Camden Harbor, past the lighthouse, as the musicians on board play a lively nautical melody. The Groom stands at the helm, waiting for his bride to appear from below. Audrie and Matt were a fun couple to photograph. They put so much thought and creativity into their rehearsal dinner and their wedding day. The fun began on Friday with a Lobster Bake at the Tranquility Grange in Lincolnville, Maine. Audrie and Matt wanted a true “Mainer” wedding, and it certainly was. Audrie’s father showed everyone how to eat a lobster.

Instead of a traditional bouquet, Audrie had a 8 foot flower boa draped over her arms, — it was fraqrant and beautiful.

The ceremony was at the Children’s Chapel in Rockport. After the ceremony we took photos of the wedding party “on the rocks” in Rockport and overlooking the harbor in Camden. A local lobsterman let us use his boat for a few fun shots.

The “garden theme” reception was held at the Whitehall Inn in Camden. With the groom’s last name being Prince it was only fitting to have a frog hold the rings and be on the cake topper.

Elder Power- caring for your aging parent

I just finished a brochure for a company called Elder Power. They are located in Damariscotta, Maine and help elderly people stay in their homes rather than go into a nursing home. It was a real eye opener. Everyone (or a lot of us) think that a nursing home is the best place for our parents or grandparents when they start to fail, but as I understood more about elder care it became more obvious that sometimes it does more harm than good.

Elder Power helps by giving the elders the help they need, when the need it. Some of the services they offer include; the guardian 911 button, video monitoring, errand services, daily phone calls, weekly visits, motion sensors (in case someone wanders off), and most importantly a personal advocate to make sure they are getting the care they need. Ancora Pasta

I had the pleasure of photographing Tim O’Brien’s Ancora Pasta last week. Ancora Pasta is a family-run business that prides itself on producing fresh, dried, and frozen artisanal pasta the way it has been for centuries: by hand. We spent 6 hours photographing the making of the pasta dough and shaping the pasta into different shapes. Have you ever wondered how they make those different pasta shapes. Here are a few photos from our shoot. This was part 1, part 2 will be cooking and serving the pasta. I am designing a brochure for Ancora Pasta and will show you that when its done.
